Will you be putting in a gallery for the layouts and projects that we work on?

Gallery/Photo Question Empty Re: Gallery/Photo Question

Post by jessicabree Fri Dec 10, 2010 10:00 pm

Glad you asked...

So here is the debate. We can add a small gallery for a reasonable fee, but it would mean projects would "age out" of the gallery and older stuff would be deleted. So for now I think it might be better if we just use photobucket or similar and then people share their projects here that way.

But if y'all really prefer a gallery and understand that your project will be deleted after 6 months or after a year, then we can set that up for the site.

Thoughts?

How would that work, Bree?

If it's something for a challenge it would obviously go into that challenge thread which sounds like a great idea.

But what's if it's something random? Where would we post if not in the gallery? Would there be a special forum where each member could have their own thread of stuff? I know another site that does that and I think it works pretty well.

I LOVE your idea. I have been trying to work out what to do with everyday projects and I think having a forum with a thread for each member could be a GREAT way to do that.

True!

I just felt like a gallery where things get deleted after a time period seemed weird!

I like the idea of posting it in the forums, not specifically in a gallery
however I wanted to post the Christmas cards I made today and wasn't sure where to put them?
you could you make a forum for Challenge photos, Layout photos, Card photos, Etc.

I ended up posting mine in the Saturday crop chat thread because that's where we were discussing the making of Christmas card, please let me know if I should move it elsewhere

I think they just have a forum called Gallery or Scrappy Projects or something like that and then each person just started their own thread of stuff within it.

I'll go look again and send you a link.

I haven't seen what you've done here yet though so off to check it out.

So I assume y'all will put all your projects in your own gallery thread and then have the choice to also link it up in category threads if you like.

I need to talk to team so we can decide how to handle challenge projects. Most likely I think we will just have you share the project IN the challenge thread.

Hmmm... I would think you might want to add new posts to your thread, but I don't know which would work better Alecia! Laughing I guess we'll have to experiment and see what seems to work best for everyone!

You can choose to have photobucket automatically resize as you upload (somewhere under options I believe) or manually resize them in photo bucket. Most forums, like here, can handle 600 pixels wide.
