Could I be allergic to my shampoo? Empty Could I be allergic to my shampoo?

I mean seriously... my scalp is all itchy and sore, esp. on top of my head where I usually scrub my scalp more (because its where my hair gets greasiest). Now I have a few little bumps and can't quite scratching. And darn it the shampoo and conditioner were like $35 together. What a waste.

Ever happen to you?

Yes, I'm allergic to some oils, and this has happened to me... some shampoos even put in ragweed extracts to call it "natural." Eek!
My suggestion.... find a nice non-oily baby shampoo to use for a week til your scalp heals, then try a shampoo with a soothing birch extract (aspirin, basically). Good luck!

Or it could be cooties. KIDDING!!!!!!

Honestly Alecia at first I wondered if I "caught" something but then realized I just changed shampoo so I am going to see if that solves the issue first.

That stinks! My scalp is usually a mess in the winter anyway.

I too had problems with Garnier Fructis.

I wold try something sulfate free for a while and most upscale places will let you return stuff if you can't use it.

Ironically its a sulfate free shampoo Smile

Its TGIG from Publix. I need to not use it for a week or so and confirm. I have red sores all over my scalp! They hurt Sad

That sucks Bree! Will they let you retuen the products? I know when you buy TIGI from a salon it's guaranteed, so you can get your money back if you're not happy with it. I would try either Matrix Biolage Volumizing or Joico Volumizing. I have used both and had no skin problems and I am very sensitive to chemicals on my skin.

I had years of a goofy scaly sort of hairline until very recently I decided to switch shampoos. It seems to have fixed my hair loss, too, as I'm seeing new growth in that area where I was starting to see more scalp than I liked. A reaction to my shampoo just never occurred to me, but apparently it's a possibility!

I am just glad it occurred to me. I thought it might be my root lift serum but then I realized the issue aligned perfectly with my new shampoo. I used DH's stuff last night and already this morning my scalp feels better.
