Prayers & Good Thoughts Appreciated

BIL#3 leaves early in the morning (3/19) for LA to report for duty for his pre-deployment training. He'll be deployed to Iraq in June and will be there for one year. So in all he'll be gone for 15/14 months. SIL doesn't know if they'll be able to see him before he leaves or not right now. She's still getting over a cold and the full reality of him being gone is hitting her. She'll be at home on the base three hours away from any family with Sierra (18 months) and Ella (2/23).

That must be so hard... I can't even imagine!!!

Me neither! She's a pretty strong individual. I know she'll be able to handle it a lot better than I would, but still. That's why I told DH & MIL that if I had met a Corps of Cadets guy at A&M I wouldn't even THINK about dating him if he planned on staying in the military. I know my limits and I know I couldn't do it.

Nick drove over the road for about 6 months a few years ago. The longest, and worst, 6 months of my life!!!! I've always told him that I didn't get married to be a single mother, lol. It's so hard not to be resentful when you're left at home with kids and a house, etc. to take care of. UGH. It's just hard.

And, at least in our case, he was home every few weeks. Not for long, but still, more than if he were in the military and overseas for a year or longer!!

Sending prayers for sure. My hubby is a Navy pilot. He flies off of aircraft carriers and is gone all the time. So I know what she's going through. It's great she's on base. That will give her a ton of much needed support.

You and your family will be in my thoughts.

So thankful for our military, but deployment is such a hard thing.

Ditto all above. I can't imagine how she's feeling or will when he's overseas. The other wives on base will be a huge support team for her! Praying for safety of her husband.
