Plan your paper layout on your computer
I saw this idea in a magazine a LONG time ago. Basically, the idea is to use your computer to plan your paper layout. This is especially helpful if you want to print your title, journaling and photos at home.
In this example, I had a really old photo that could not be blown up, but I wanted to scrap it on a 12x12. Here is the "sketch" I created:
Then I was able to print my title onto my cardstock and quickly create this layout:
I have done this for an odd sized mini album too. I premade all my "sketches" and printed them 3 to a page and took them to crop with me. My album came together so much faster with my sketches to work from. And it helped me figure out what size photos I needed, how many I could fit on a page, etc.
How to do this:

How to do this:
- You need powerpoint or a similar software (like Open Office - free)
- Start a new presentation. Format the size of the slides to the same size as your layout (12x12, 8x8, etc.)
- Insert your pictures. If you only want to scrap with standard sized prints, then resiz them to 4x6.
- Add boxes as places holders for cardstock and PP.
- Add text boxes to create your title or journaling.
- If you plan to print your photos, title or journaling at home and don't have a large format printer, you can copy and paste items from your "sketch" to a new letter size presentation for printing.

Very cool! My friend Lindsay does this...she prints them out and brings them to crops with her page kit that she made for the layout.

That is a great idea! I could probably do that on my Gypsy, since I don't have photoshop on my Mac.
