Christmas Baking Empty Christmas Baking

Post by Tamara Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:35 am

So I am going to get started on some baking tonight. I have a group coming over to play Settler's of Catan tomorrow night and had planned a few things to serve during the game. Here is what I hope to accomplish before I go to bed. And it is already 4:30 in the afternoon here.

*Banana Bread
*Peanut Butter Fudge
*Lemon Squares
*Caramels

Wish me luck.

What are you making this Holiday Season?

Good luck Tam!!!

I have to make banana and pumpkin bread. This year I bought a kit from work to make peppermint bark snowflakes...it comes with 6 snowflake cookie cutters and you're supposed to fill them with chocolate and give as a gift like that BUT Ken doesn't like that so I am making them and just giving his employees the chocolate part. I hope to make cookies too but it just depends on the amount of free time I have since I have so many sewing projects to get done.

I finished up the Christmas baking over the weekend, thank goodness! Peanut butter balls, Mint cookies, Hershey Kiss cookies, Banana Bread (I think it's a different recipe than yours - mine uses chocolate chips, cherries & walnuts in it also) & Cranberry Bread, Sugar Cookies, Date Cookies, and Fudge.

I think we should all put our recipes we use in the recipe section when we make the items.

When you make them, do you fill the cookie cutter with the peppermint bark when it's soft??? I think that those would be super cute to do with my cousin, Emma!

the chocolate rum balls are no bake and super easy. And added bonus- because you don't bake them the alcohol stays in the cookie Smile

Peanut butter Fudge does not take long at all. I would say 10 minutes tops from start to finish.

Sure. It is over at the freak and I can just go and copy and paste. Smile

Just finished Caramels and it is 7:30pm.

Next up, Lemon Squares. Just waiting for the boy (Spencer) to unload the dishwasher so I can get more dishes going so I can have some counter space for working.

Still to bake:

Polish roll ups (don't know if Mom and I are attempting these this year)

I've also grabbed recipes for and may try:
Mexican wedding cookies
raspberry cake bars

Tess, your Mexican Wedding Cookies. That reminds me of the Danish Wedding Cookies. Now I want to make those. Christmas Baking 251921

PS---I just looked up what a Mexican Wedding Cookie is and it looks EXACTLY like the Danish Wedding Cookies. They are da bomb! Yup, think I am adding these to my list.

OK, so my baking has come to a complete stop and I am not finished. I am in the MIDDLE of making Lemon Squares (meaning my crust is in the oven and I am doing the filling) when I run out of sugar. Who runs out of sugar? Spencer even said....Mom, you always have like 100 at a time. Guess who is walking to the store in the morning. Christmas Baking 976224
