Job Hunt Question
So girls, as you know DH had a phone interview the week. The next step if they are interested is an in person or video (since we live overseas) interview.
How long is normal for one to wait to hear after the phone interview? I usually think if they were interested, they would jump on it right away and the longer the wait, the more chance it is they are not interested. But at the same time, if they were not interested, I think they would of sent an email by now saying that he was not a good match.
I need help calming my nerves.

Re: Job Hunt Question
Honestly its impossible to tell by the time that passes.
Some people drag out their interviews forever, and just aren't sure who will be best until they are done. Some are faster. The best thing to do is for HIM to (at the end of the interview) express what a good fit he feels could be the job and to ask what the next step is, about long will that be? Then at least he can set expectations for both of you.
Not contacting him yet is not a bad thing!

I agree with Bree, sometimes their concept of a long time is two weeks, while ours is two days... hang in there!

Re: Job Hunt Question
that is what I was thinking Tonya.
I know Gardner had one other phone interview and during the phone interview both Gardner and the person on the other end of the phone said it would not work out for either of them.
And I was thinking if it was not a good fit, they probably would of emailed sometime during the week.
He had a phone interview with 3 people at the same time. And it was Monday night (for us). I am sure Gardner is not the only person they are interviewing. So perhaps we will hear something in a week or so.

Re: Job Hunt Question
I agree that it just depends on the company. Hopefully he will hear soon but don't be discouraged. Some companies just take a while to make decisions.
Gardner should keep in touch with them though and continue to let them know why he's the right person for the job.

Re: Job Hunt Question
I know for my job, my boss was really busy with all of her responsibilities that I didn't hear from her for probably over a week...I thought I had not gotten the job, but I've been there over a year now. YAY! PS Personally, I think there *must* be a perfect position for him in WI...

Re: Job Hunt Question
my last two jobs took MONTHS seriously.
three months for the first one (i stayed for 10 yrs)
then about three months for my current one (i'm coming up on 6th anniversary)
especially around the holidays, people get busy and can't get the right people together tomake a decision and then put thru allt he stuff to make offers

Re: Job Hunt Question
When hubby was looking for work it took one company 2 months before they replied that he got the position.
Re: Job Hunt Question
In this climate it can take at least a month. Its so competitive out there plus difficult to get everyone scheduled for interviews. Its not uncommon to have to interview with several people at the company so it can take time wading through it all.
I say hold out hope and don't worry yet!
