1.20 Thrifty Thursday - Logos & Images
One of the biggest ways I save money, is I resist buying overly themed papers and embellies that can only be used for specific projects. But there are those times when you really want that perfect themed item for a layout. Rather than searching every where for it, you can probably find what you need online and print it yourself.
I wanted to do a layout about my love of Barbie dolls in the 80's. I googled for images of Barbie doll boxes for dolls I had as child (like the one here - Beauty Secrets). I then printed it out onto photopaper to create a rich image and cut out the Barbie logo and Barbie drawing to use on my page.
And a BONUS thrifty idea... I hate having leftover alphas that can never use. Since this layout was more colorful and playful, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to try a mixed font title. This is a great way to use up those alphas. I doodled on some of them with an Expo marker.
And here are a few images to get you thinking about ways you can do this too!
Holidays: search for movies, themes and characters you like now or as a kid
Rudolf poster for a layout about Christmas in the 70's
Disney Projects: search for characters you saw or your kids love
Movies: try using logos from movies as a title for a page, or pics of characters as embellies

Great tips as always! Didn't think of the photo paper idea.
