Whole Foods' Soup Empty Whole Foods' Soup

Post by rukristin Thu Feb 03, 2011 6:14 pm

We got some prepared soup at Whole Foods last night.

They are 32oz containers, and are in the frozen section.

I got the tomato bisque, and its only 140 calories a serving.

And on Wednesdays at our Whole Foods all the prepared soups are buy one get one free!

So if you portioned it out, it cost $1 a serving.

and it was fantastic. I put some cracked black pepper on mine, and a tiny sprinkle of a three cheese blend from Trader Joe's (an extra 25 calories). So so so yummy.

They have other soups too! I don't know off hand what the caloric intake of the other ones are, but if their tomato bisque is only 140, I'm sure they have a whole bunch that are around that amount.

The triple squash soup that Jeff got is 120 calories a serving! Very Happy

Yeah, affording shopping there all the time is not possible.

But they have very good prices on in season produce, and some of their generic 365 brand

I cant ever afford their meat

I don't even like paying the $4.99 for the super lean ground beef.

Yeah. I bought some chicken wings there, they were pretty reasonable. But like their thin chicken cutlets were $7.99 an lb.

Thank god we have a fantastic farmers market and their meat and poultry is really really really good, and much more reasonable.

LOVE their 365 Teriyaki sauce! I always get the frozen asparagus there off season. It's hard to leave there without some yummy cheese! That store is addicting AND expensive at times! Once in a while I'll shop there and go nuts. Pricey though.

There is one not too far from the forum if you want to stop by some nights Smile It can be expensive but some items are not so bad!

I will say I love the meat at Fresh Market. It is expensive but the taste and quality are amazing. and when I buy the ground sirlion to make soup I only use 1/2lb for a whole pot so its not a big deal. There filet mignon kebobs are super expensive but then I compared it to eating filet out and it was way cheaper than that... so I still like to do those once in a while. Just not everyday kind of prices Very Happy
