New Thread Question Empty New Thread Question

Post by monica Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:44 pm

I remember questions being asked in the beginning about threads not showing up as new but at the time I wasn't having any problem with it. BUT...that's because I was reading them all I think. lol

I have noticed that if I look one day at new posts but don't open or respond to them, that the next day they no longer show up as new. And in fact, this morning, it said there were no new posts at all. Although, there clearly was as I can see them when I look at the main page and look at the dates.

So...is this a setting that I can change on my end or just the way the forum works?

Its the way the forum works. and I think its when you close your browser, that it "resets". Like if I leave a tab open with the forum up, and then just keep refreshing that tab, I don't seem to lose any of the threads.

Thanks. I just wasn't sure if it was just me. I swear it used to not do that. BUT...I was on a lot more in beginning of the year so maybe that's why.

And if you check in on different devices it seems to make the problem worse.

Ah...that could be my problem then too. I was mostly checking in on my laptop until it went kaput. Now it's my work computer, my home computer, Ab's laptop, Jason's laptop...just whatever I can find. lol

Speaking of devices though...any luck on getting the site accessible through Tapatalk?

K was having her boy take a look at tapatalk...

Any luck K???

But YES Monica that makes it so much worse. Each time you switch devices it seems to reset the new messages. So I sometimes try to NOT pop on unless I have time to read the new threads I am most interested in if that makes sense.

tapatalk won't work with our forum, even if we change the version type. BUT the forumotion people have a beta mobile version of the site out, and are supposed to eventually have full functionality.

right now its only guest mode -- so no logging in or posting. but its a step in the right direction.

Yes, total sense. I do that too. Because if I just quickly glance, they'll be gone the next time! lol
