Anyone else hate cutting up PP?
I all the layouts I see with just strips of PP or small blocks of it or even borders punched out. I guess most people use scraps for this. That only works if you scrapbook and HAVE scraps to work with.
Ive got full sheets.
I feel totally weird and find it really hard to cut a 2"x6" strip of PP out of a perfectly good sheet of paper. Never mind the fact I NEVER use a whole sheet of PP as a background.
So why is it so hard for me to let go and actually USE my paper???

Re: Anyone else hate cutting up PP?
its a mindset. you have to just do it.
rip a sheet in half.
do it again.
it was REALLY hard for me to do at first.
but now its all I do
It helped that I looked at my stash of paper, and I had so much of it that I was like---chances are if I don't use this paper right now, I'm never gonna use it. So I might as well just throw it away--and if I'm gonna do that, why not rip it up

and besides, there are very very few scrappy supplies that can't be replaced:) so if you really screwed it up--you can always go get another sheet; and this time you know not to do what you did last time:)

I just cut on into it... My reasoning... there still LOTS of the paper left to use later.
I have no prob cutting a strip. My prob? Using the whole sheet or most of it on a layout. Then it feels gone so fast.

OMG I totally used to do that! (and then wouldn't use either piece )
Re: Anyone else hate cutting up PP?
I used to be like this to.....I'd buy something and go to use it for whatever and then back out thinking something better might come along......after a few months of that I gave myself a rule that if it works USE IT ...no hoarding or saving unless it was bought specific and then I will still use it somethimes for something other than the purpose it was bought for NOW......
I know what you mean about cutting into a good peice of paper tho, but my justification is that if I have nothing else that will work and that one peice will then I go for it and save the rest for something else....a bit of guilt but it lessons each time I do it.

Re: Anyone else hate cutting up PP?
I LOVE cutting paper. I don't know what I would do without fussy cuts. I'd rather pay 60-90 cents for another sheet of paper than 5 dollars for a package of flowers or butterflies. The first cut is always the hardest for me, but once I hear that "snip" it's all over, LOL.

i love cutting patterned paper. then again, i am a card maker and the left overs are an excuse to make a cute card.
