Re: Tuesday Happenings
This morning schedules were all screwed up due to snow that we got last night. I had three kids who did not make it to school. The younger two who I kept home because I did not want to go out. Then Shantal. And that part is funny. Because Spencer and Shantal ride the same bus.....usually. But the buses were not running to their school today. but Spencer made it by taking a different bus.
After I got the kids off who went, My friend called and asked if I wanted to come over and play Settler's of Catan. Since I had the kids home plus Shantal, she was able to babysit while I went and played.
I also had Orthodontist appointments for three kids this afternoon that I had to cancel due to the snow.
now I am just doing laundry while the kids are outside playing.....in the Snow.
See the theme for today? Snow. :giggle:

Hi gals!
I'm going to send the dh out to run errands today! I am going to stay indoors today. It could be warmer in the house, but I'm sure afrter the furnace man comes and fixes whatever is wrong I'll have a nice toasty house today!

Re: Tuesday Happenings
Hi hi.
I'm staying home today. Trying to rest my shoulder. I don't really think resting it is making it better, just making it not hurt as much when I don't use it.
So computer and tv and crafts it is for me.

Charlotte, a furnace is an important thing in the winter time. Good luck staying warm.

Re: Tuesday Happenings
Morning!!! It's a start of a great Tuesday I saw a shooting star on the drive to work this morning (I had never seen one before), and then stopped by Caribou Coffee quick because they had Medium Mochas for $2 today, so I have my yummy White Chocolate Ho Ho Mint Mocha. So far, not too much excitement going on at work yet. Everyone's in their staff meeting, so I'm working on files again today - very, very exciting.

Are you still without health insurance? I was going to suggest a physical therapy consult but that doesn't work without insurance.

Re: Tuesday Happenings
We slept in this morning...the kids woke up asking why we were late and I told them to go back to sleep since there was no school. First Ben climbed in and brought his legos...he built an airplane while he was watching tv and then Jackie climbed in plus the 2 dogs...it was super toasty. Didn't want to get out of bed.

I have to work at 2pm today until close (10:30pm). I need to make some beaded bookmarks for my kids babysitter today before work. I should actually get off here and get that done.

Re: Tuesday Happenings
I've taken over the Girl Scout troop, as of this past October 1st. So now I have a Cub Pack, a Boy Scout Troop and a Girl Scout Troop. We are all meeting at the same time and at the same location so it isn't as bad as it sounds.Shannon wrote:How's the scouting going Leslie?
AND, I have about $20,000 a year in grant money to work with.
Re: Tuesday Happenings
My GS Troop has 6 girls this year. They are juniors and so far we are having a good year. I haven't gotten them bridged yet though...so much to do so little time.
I was going to lead the Cub Scout troop but with working full time now, there just isn't a way (and my juniors are meeting 2x a month again plus their field trips/service projects). The leader we do have is absolutely clueless with no communication skills what so ever. We missed scouting for food and Ben got pushed out of a few popcorn booths because of the lack of communication. He loves Cub Scouts so it is worth the frustrations. We are going to the Police Station next week for our Den Meeting/Go See It.

Re: Tuesday Happenings
My GS troop is multi-level, but mostly brownies. Karoline gets to be in it! I pick her up after school.
I have such a great team of leaders to work with - we're combining all the programs and kinda putting together our own. they are earning badges though and that is important (to the kids)

Re: Tuesday Happenings
it does make it nice. i don't have to deal with product sales. the area we are serving is not trustworthy enough to do product sales in...Shannon wrote:That is awesome about the Grant money!!!
Re: Tuesday Happenings
Definitely!!! We have earned 3 badges so far and we are almost done with earning the Sign of the Star badge also. I was told during Junior training that those are going away next year so we wanted to get those done before they are gone.

remember - you are selling Scouting, not a product.Shannon wrote:We didn't do the fall sales...with Cub Scouts and the school fall fundraiser we didn't want to bombard people with those...plus those are totally over priced!!! Cookies I am looking forward to selling/eating. :giggle:
Re: Tuesday Happenings
I fell down the stairs, and I'm pretty sure I tore my rotator cuff.
and yeah, still without insurance. waiting for Jeff to get his bonus, and then I'll just get some on my own for now.
Cause it still hasnt gotten any better; and if it were just a pulled muscle or something, it would at least be getting better.
