I'm stressing out over scrapping
I keep talking to my husband about it and of course he just tries to listen but just doesn't get it....
so this trip was awesome (I'm actually still on it) and I have no idea where to start to scrap it
there are so many little things to scrap about
I don't know if I should do a big 12x12 of just the trip
more of a mini
or separate disney, nickelodeon, Kennedy space center, ocean/Ron Jons
or more of a time line-ex. day 1-going to Disney, day 2-Disney, day 3-Ron Jon's ect
its just the biggest trip we've been on and I want to capture everything
I have Bree's Project memorabilia always in the back of my head and collecting everything
any thoughts?

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
Start with an outline on paper, of everything you want to capture.
I would do it as a timeline; or at least start your outline with a timeline, and then organize everything you want to scrap according to your outline. And then scrap whatever you feel like scrapping whenever you feel like it.
And if you stick to your outline; you'll always know what you have left to do, and you'll never have to worry about missing out on some of your memories.

In fact, start out with a Daily Itinerary, just a few sentences about each day, and then expand upon that, to include your favorite memories, cute stories, and everything you want to include.
Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
gosh KK, you are so organized!
but it does sound like something I'll have to do just because there is so much to do
I've never gone on this long of a vacation before where it was so packed KWIM
usually its like the Dells and we swam in the water park...that's easy

If you need help Sara, I'm more than willing I really enjoy planning big projects like that They can be super overwhelming, but if you break them down into smaller pieces and still have an idea of where it fits into the overall scheme, then you're golden!

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
K, I need you to help me figure out my Disney trip from '07!
Sara, I ended up going with an 8x8 album, one for each boy. My rationale was that they each had a very different experience since they were 4 and almost 7 when we went. Never having done an 8x8 before, the first few pages were a learning experience as I figured out how big to print pictures and how much I could expect to put on a page.
I made a list of everything I wanted to document, then I sorted my pics and matched pics to my list as best I could, noting where I needed to do a no-pic page. Mine will be essentially chronological.
I'm nowhere near done yet, but I like how it's going so far.

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
I remember how hard it was when I did our Disney album...there's just SO much there!
I ended up doing an 8.5x11 album, separating it by park, and then I did a page for every ride/event. Crazy...but I love how it turned it out.
That should keep you busy for a while, Sara!

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
I have also tried doing trips by topic Sara instead of just timeline. But it might be more confusing that way? Like rides, food, characters, etc.
Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
well we were on at Disney for one day so its more of just Disney...there was so much of this trip but I might have 10 pages of Disney, 5 of the beach, 7 of Kennedy...KWIM
I think I'll do a timeline...I think I'll figure that out on my plane ride home tomorrow
thanks ladies

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
I wish I gone a big vacation that I need to scrap.
Sorry, that's all I have to add. It sounds like you've been offered some great advice already though. Don't let it overwhelm you...use some of your facebook updates as journaling.

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
once you get home, look at your photos and pick the ones you like best. the layouts will come from there.
it doesn't matter what order (wow, listen to ME) just that you capture the moments!

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
I have the same problem for my trip to Europe last year... And even all of my other trips... I've been on 2 x 2 week trips, one 3 week trip, and a 9 week trip... My partner took over 10,000 pics while on the 9 week trip, and it's too overwhelming to even open the folder and look!
I plan on eventually doing them as timelines, as I kept a travel diary each time and stuff. I'll do a 12x12 album most likely, with a double page for each significant sight and stuff, more if needed, less if not much to tell. I'm looking up heaps of double page, multi-photo sketches for now, and when I have time, I'll look at starting it.
It's seriously overwhelming doing projects like this... Much worse than December Daily and Week in the Life albums, both of which I done last year

Re: I'm stressing out over scrapping
As someone who has thousands of disney pics my motto is this. Scrapbooks are not replacements for photo albums (digital or real). I don't even try to scrap every photo. I don't want to. I scrap the special ones that have a particular memory associated with them (ie I don't need to scrapbook the 45 pictures of the castle I took)
This way I don't get overwhelmed and I still have fun
