Crickets!!!!!
So, while I was in Georgia, Lou added a new "pet" to the family. When he told me that via text, I was hoping to come home to a puppy, unfortunately, I came home to a scorpion!
As disgusting as that is, the worst part is that it eats crickets. Loud, obnoxious, chirpy crickets. I am ready to flush them down the toilet!!!

Re: Crickets!!!!!
Yuck. I tried to keep crickets to feed our geckos, and hated them. They stink, too. I switched to freeze-dried crickets and live mealworms. Will scorpions eat mealworms? I can email you my setup, I raised them in oatmeal.

Ewww! Worms gross me out too! I don't know what he is going to do to feed him. I think the crickets he got this time were too big because the scorpion seems to think the cricket in his tank is a roommate, not dinner!
And yes I am afraid of it. That is why the lid has extra clamps on it!

Crickets come in three sizes, you need the smallest for scorpions, also the crickets will need some water cubes with nutrients--I used Fluker's blue for he crickets, Fluker's orange for the mealworms. really mealworms are not nasty.

It's all part of Lou's evil plan to drive you insane.

Re: Crickets!!!!!
Icky!
We used to have crickets too when Jason had his poison dart frogs. But he had to have the week old ones so they didn't make noise. If the scorpion hasn't eaten his roommate yet, you might need younger ones...which will be good for you because they are not as noisy!

Re: Crickets!!!!!
Isn't it bad luck to kill a cricket???
Since feeding them to a disgusting scorpion, that's killing it. Tell him he is bringing years and years of bad luck to your happy home.
If that doesn't work....move!
(just checked....a cricket in the house is good luck. That doesn't mean a "dead" cricket)

Yeah Mon, I think that they are too big. The last ones he got were smaller and quiet, and the scorpion ate them!

Your knowledge of the obscure is amazing
Re: Crickets!!!!!
OMG!!!! LOL!!!! I'm not an animal person, none in my house.......I love them when they are not mine, lol!
Re: Crickets!!!!!
I would make Kris and the scorpion and the crickets live in the garage. NO WAY would that thing be in my house. And I actually like animals!
I love that your scorpion has a roommate, though

Re: Crickets!!!!!
I actually think scorpions are pretty cool (but I like snakes and spiders and big lizards too).
Im glad he figured out what size food he needed. No fair to the scorpion to starve cause he wouldn't eat his bff.

Re: Crickets!!!!!
So to continue with the cricket saga...
I finally couldn't take the crickets anymore, so I told Lou to flush them down the toilet. He did and they were gone. Or so I thought! I walked into the bathroom about an hour later and there was a cricket crawling out of the toilet!!! So, I flushed again and now we are cricket free!

I'm glad that you saw the cricket before you sat down.

Re: Crickets!!!!!
You could always name the roommate cricket and tell him that is now your pet and then cry really hard if he tries to feed it to something.
