Wreath projects Empty Wreath projects

Post by asarasota Sun Dec 12, 2010 7:58 pm

I figured since we make them all year long, we could put all the different types in one place, perhaps.
Starting off with a non-holiday holiday wreath by Davinie Fiero:

(hope you don't mind but I added the photo for this below-Mara)

and we need to add Kim's card holder wreath in here, too! :-)

Wreath projects RibbonWreathDT

As soon as I saw Charlene Driggs' Ribbon Wreath on the May Arts Blog back in September, I knew I wanted one for my home. Using Charlene's instructions, this wreath was both easy and fun to create and the end result is beautiful. I created this wreath for a Christmas decoration for my home, and living in Florida, I do not experience the snow and ice that decorates the typical winter landscape. I wanted to create something fresh and vibrant to celebrate my non-traditional winter so I decided on bright color palette. I packed up all of my Christmas decorations weeks ago, but decided to leave this wreath hanging on my wall. I think the colors are also perfect for spring.

Wreath projects Empty Re: Wreath projects

Post by datatar Fri Mar 04, 2011 4:48 pm

Thanks so much Ladies! I used about 30 yards of ribbon to cover my 10-inch wreath. If I make a similar wreath again I would make sure that all my ribbon was at least one-and-one-half inches wide. The thickness of the ribbons I used for my wreath ranged from seven-eighth-inches to one-and-one-half inches. I was not able to fasten the narrower ribbon as tightly to my wreath and some of the ends came loose as I was working on my wreath. I used ball point pins to re-attach the loose ends. In addition, the narrower ribbon does not always completely cover the pins so some of my pins are still visible. I could have used much less ribbon and pins if I chose wider ribbon.
