Pawn Shows Empty Pawn Shows

Post by monica Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:11 am

Do any of you watch any of those pawn shows...pawn queens, pawn stars, etc.?

I find them fascinating. BUT I'm always amazed at people that want X amount for something and act so surprised when they can't get it.

Hello...it's a PAWN shop! lol

Me!!!

I love Pawn Stars. Some of the stuff on there is pretty neat to see but ITA about the prices. They're TOTALLY SHOCKED when they don't get the money for what the item is "valued" at. I laugh every time. Razz

never heard of it. I think the closest thing I used to watch to this show is Road Shows (I htink it was called) where people brought their antique stuff to see how much it was worth.

We love Pawn Stars! My boys love watching it, too.

I also laugh when the appraiser says "it's worth 2K" and then the person wants 2K for it. Ummm there needs to be a margin for profit. Duh. lol

I like that one & one that I think is called "Hardcore Pawn?" I think it's funny of some of the stuff that people bring in, like on Hardcore Pawn, some girl brought in her stash of thongs. Really??? Who would want to buy your used underwear??? Pawn Shows 251921

I've watched a couple of times and, yeah, people are weird.

And, having worked in the jewelry business, I know there is a big difference between replacement value and resale value on jewelry (or just about anything).
