The names of Michigan come from the Huron and Chippewa Indian Tribes, the French, the English, the Swedes, the Dutch, the Finns, and everyone else who decided to settle here. There is even a town up in the Upper Peninsula that got it's name from the first initials of the first settlers...

Yeah this country has some crazy names and words doesn't it? Here in MN the Ojibewe indians are the tribe... and the other.. oh dang I just forgot the name... but that makes some wild names = especially ou tin the country
