Project: Life Memorabilia - Get Started! Empty Project: Life Memorabilia - Get Started!

Post by jessicabree Mon Jan 03, 2011 6:37 pm

Okay I wanted to help each of you interested in this new project to get started off! So I have a simple task for you this week...

1. Collect STUFF. Don't worry about how you will use it. Just save it. Wrappers, labels, coasters, business cards, flyers, junk mail, catalogs, postcards, etc.

2. Take more SNAP SHOTS: If you can, keep a phone with a camera or a small point and shoot with you and snap quick photos of your everyday life. Get a shot of your grocery cart packed full of food for the family, snap a shot of your favorite coffee place, quick shot of lunch out, etc.

3. Come back here and share some snap shots and list or photo of memorabilia you have collected!

I have a Southwest napkin and peanut wrapper from my New Year's flight, a crossword, an article torn from the paper, a stub from the museum... not much yet. Today home with sick child, so not a lot done since lunchtime. It's a start, though!
(note to self: ask Bree about album)

It takes a while to start to think about doing this Tonya!

I have my second passport photo since they only use one for my emergency passport.

Great tips, Bree!
I picked up all sorts of things this weekend while I was shopping...a cute bag, a sticker, a business card...

The process for my book is that it will be mostly memorabilia with some photos mixed in...unlike scrapping where I feel that everything has to have a photo (even though I know it really doesn't). I don't always drag my camera out and about with me (even though I should) so I'll put using mostly my iphone photos. For me...it's a great way to document the things I love that I don't always have pictures for and a bonus to use the iphone photos that I never feel are good enough to scrap.

So...just some other thoughts for you. Smile

Love your perspective on it. I am trying to do lots of iPhone photos in part because the photo serves as a time date stamp to remind me to document that day. Smile and a lot of those photos sucks but when printed small for a mini like this they work.

OK, I have a bunch of stuff in a pile now--can we do it a week at a time, not daily? I'm thinking that's more practical for me...
