Hi ladies just popping in during my lunch break !

I´ve been sleeping to late afternoon... And now I´m soon off to do my second night.
But then I´m off for a couple of nights again.

OMG, Mara... that totally made me LOL.

Well, the ghetto Cobalt isn't going to work out. We got there today and it had already been sold... althought it's still sitting in the lot, taunting me! lol

The salesman told us he had another car that would work for us, with the financing, etc... a PT Cruiser, Touring Edition. Nick immediately groaned... he was a grease monkey for years and HATED working on Chryslers, especially PT Cruisers, of course. But, I drove it, and I kinda liked it. Unlike the ghetto Cobalt, it has ALLLL the bells and whistles, which was kind of nice!

But I insisted that Nick drive it b/c he knows more what things to look for than I do. And it's a good thing... he turned the air on going down the road, to make sure it worked, and the car immediately overheated. Uhhhhh, so not cool!!!! He also walked around the outside and could tell that it had been wrecked (even though the Carfax report says it's been in no accidents, grrrr).

So, we didn't have a good feeling about any of that. So I'm still carless. :cry:

I've NEVER had so much trouble buying a car in my life. This has been going on for WEEKS now. ughhhhhhh.

awww Erin that totally sucks I actually sort of want a PT Cruiser. I like cars that don't look like every other sedan on the road. But of they are being dishonest thats a HUGE red flag.

Since your Dh is knowledgeable have you tried craigslist? Do they have one in your neck of the woods?

and Katie Im so glad Lily isn't any sicker than she already is!!!! Hopefully her hear infection will clear up soon!

My mom had a PT Cruiser several years ago... actually, my husband was SELLING cars at that time and he sold it to her (even though he hates them! He also hates my mom, so maybe that makes sense?? hahaha).

Anyway, I always liked her Cruiser when I drove it. Although, the way the front end of the car disappears, sometimes I think it's hard to judge and maneuver it! And the backseats are surprisingly tiny. But, other than that, I like them! And this one, b/c it was the Touring Edition, was super nice!!! Oh, well.

We actually started by looking at classifieds, eBay, Craigslist, etc... We were going to just pay a couple thousand cash for a beater car to get Nick back and forth to work, and NOT have a car payment. BUT, we decided against that after we saw what a couple grand would get us. Eeeek. Then we decided to go the dealership route and have a car payment... but we're still staying on the cheap end so that it won't be too overwhelming, hopefully.

I'm sure we'll find something eventually. And, like I told Nick today, I'd actually rather take our time and end up with a decent car that we both like. We're both very impulsive, so it's frustrating that it's taking so long... but not necessarily a BAD thing!

OH MARA! It's not a cube, but my neighbor is selling a Toyota Avalon. You might be interested?????
