Tips on packing for a crop
Just some general tips for packing for a crop for those that never do this. I geared this towards crops with limited space!
1.The first thing I recommend is to create a tool kit. Get a large pencil case(cheap in the school supply section of stores) and pack the following items (skip any you don’t typically use):
a. Journaling pens (black, white, and your fav other colors like brown)
b. Scissors
c. Xacto knife
d. Paper Piercer
e. Straight pin (for unclogging bottles if needed)
f. Bone folder
g. Rub-on transfer tool (popsicle stick)
h. Tweezers
2. Plan for your typical adhesive needs and bring extra:
a. Tape runner & refills (unless its your ATG)
b. Glue
c. Glue dots or double sided tape
d. Vellum/acrylic adhesive if needed
e. Pop dots if needed
3. Next decide which of the “bigger” tools you really need and which you can leave home:
a. Paper Trimmer (required really, but choose wisely what size to bring if you have options)
b. Glass mat
c. Crop-a-dile/Hole Punch
d. Stapler
e. Embossing gun
4. Think about what are your general must have supplies for ANY project (just the must haves!)
a. Paint
b. Stickles
c. Inks
d. Stamps
e. Ribbon
f. Bling
g. Chipboard
h. Embellishments
5. Really important is to plan your projects! Ideally, a true project is better than just pages because it makes things less complicated. Make sure you think thru how much you can really do on the trip (don’t bring stuff to make 20 pages if you will only get 5 done). Make sure it is something you won’t get bored with or bring a backup option. For your project plan out the following:
a. Print your photos (and consider bringing a copy on a CD or memory stick for reprints if needed)
b. Decide if you want to pre-print your journaling
c. Plan for cardstock, patterned paper, alphabets, and embellishments
