Today I will be sharing some of Monica's book

I'm planning on taking pictures later or tomorrow

So DH has been doing a little bit of decluttering. And he knows I am trying to save memorabilia. So he has been making a pile. And I just keep on laughing what he is saving. I guess I should just be happy he is saving things. But I can only imagine he is throwing the good stuff away.

So now I'm thinking of a binder, like K's, but 8 1/2 x 11. I have lots of 8 1/2 x 11 papers that I want to save (two boys in school, ya know?) so I needed something that size and I figured it'd be easier to use a pre-made (but decorated) album.

Now do I use page protectors for the big stuff, or for everything, or for nothing?

It how ever you want to do it Laura! I don't think any of the project team is using page protectors but its your call!

I actually got a couple of the weird page protectors from Pink Paislee and I'm using those, but a majority arent in page protectors.

i snapped a phone photo of the airport sign today, it is funny because it says "airport" and "washington" meaning washington, IN but of course, I am always going to DC

Then maybe I'll see as I go on the page protector thing. Stuff that's flimsy can get one, stuff that's more robust can not? We'll see.

And I need to look into these "weird page protectors from Pink Paislee". I've heard of them a few places now and have no idea what y'all are talking about!

They havent been able to stay in stock anywhere, so I grabbed some from Studio Calico, and they are very fun. and for a mixed up size binder, they are perfect.

So do you cut them down to fit your stuff? Or are you just fitting lots of different sized things in the various pockets?

and I had a couple photos and a bunch of little things I wanted to use. so I used that as my starting point

okay i started! I got the front cover, the binding and FIVE pages done but i'm toast so no photos for you. sorry.
i still need to pack and work on my proposal. leaving in the morning, so photos will have to wait till next weekend

I'm starting to get my head wrapped around this. I think I'll be going with the AC 8 1/2 x 11 binder with regular page protectors. I have some baseball card thingies left over from my Week in the Life project last spring that I can use for little stuff if needed. Bigger than 2x3 but smaller than 8 1/2 x 11 I can use a regular page protector cut down and sewn to the right size. Some stuff won't be put in a page protector at all. I can also use 8x8 page protectors if I can find them. I think AC makes them to fit in their binder albums.

I also think I have a handle on the memorabilia stuff. I don't need 4 or 5 things from each day. Just here and there stuff, right? I have a decent little stash going. I need to get started on my album!

I went to my fav starbucks today and something odd happened and my drink wasn't ever coming up. The guy realized it and asked what i had and rushed my drink. No biggie. He gave me a cool free drink card for next time. I've only ever seen one once before.

Is it wrong that part of me wants to scrap the elusive sorry we messed up free drink card rather than use it?

This project is warping my brain.

Well okay I was warped before this.

Oh yeah Laura! Just here and there stuff! I think a goal of 2-3 pages per week with memorabilia for half or so of that would make for an awesome album! If you did just a front and back side of a page for each week and 1 memorabilia item per week for a year that would be 100 pages and 50 items! How doable but cool is that!

Photocopy it onto the back of a Starbucks wrapper?

I think i might scan it and a print it onto card stock! Glad you helped me brainstorm A!

Well Bree, look at it this way...would you spend the $ amount on a scrapbooking embellishment? Its easily justified that way
