Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I need to work on eating better and the only thing that worked for me in the past was WW. The new program sounds interesting. I am curious to try it and wondering what others think of it.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Kim has been talking about signing up for WW but hasn't done it yet.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I've been wondering about it too. WW did work for me in the past, but I wasn't always eating as healthy as I should have been. Like, I'd rather use my points for a meal than "waste" them on a piece of fruit, KWIM? I'd be way more likely to eat fruit for a snack if it didn't count against me
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Bree, I am starting the 7 day trial. Want to start it with me?!?

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I like the new program -- I think it makes sense and is healthier than the old plan. Colleen is already doing it and I've got the stuff and plan to start after my BD party (I figure why set myself up for failure). Let me know if/how we can support one another.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I have lots of friends on it and they all say it is wonderful and are happy with the results.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I will be continuing with the old program since I can not afford to join WW again.
I am off to a great start in the new year.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I'd love to hear more about the changes and see the plan, but no WW for me per say.
I facilitate a local Maine weight loss group, Hot Mamas Weight Loss Club.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Id love to join but just don't have $ in the budget right now. I do pretty well when I count calories as I know what i need to stay under to lose weight and roughly what % of carbs that can be.
Even if I don't join you know I will gladly support you in this (like maybe we should find some healthier options for Friday nights. lol)

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Uh Bree hI should, my diet consist of junk junk and more junk, lol!!! I would love to loose 12lbs. I know I am lucky to weigh 137 adter 5 kiddos but I wanna be 125. More than I need to loose weight toug I need to tone and I am sooooo lazy about that! I wished for a personal trainer in my 1 in 11 though, lol
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I did do WW in the past, but couldn't stand the leader. But I did have one thought though, how about we do a Biggest Loser on here, or something like that? Something to help everyone stay accountable and stick with it
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
We can totally do a weight loss/fitness challenge here if y'all want!
I love going to meetings but not sure I will really go right now so I might try the online. Online is only $18 a month and they are waving registration right now.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I don't think I'd ever go to the meetings, but I could imagine doing online. Maybe I'll do the 7 day free to see what it feels like. I've done WW on my own before (someone got me the books) and I've been saying I need to work on it again. I took off about 10 pounds in 3 months and it's stayed off for over a year now, but I have a ways to go!

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I've never done WW. I'm more the tracking calories kinda gal...I have done a weight loss class a few times. Pretty much the same class like 3 or 4 times...I know it all, it just helps with accountability...and there's always a new idea or two.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I loved the meetings IF you find a leader you like. Their stats show that for most, the meetings are more effective. BUT given I did it and lost over 25lbs before I might try on my own for a bit. Under $20 a month is not bad! And I know I cooked more at home when I did WW, so I am sure I will save $20+ a month on food.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
So I started today and the difference I see is that the way points are calculated is a bit different. One of the first things they say about the difference right away is that they no longer use calories to calculate points. Before it was calories, fat, and fiber. Now it is fat, carbs, protien, and fiber. The goal is to help people to focus on the type of food they are eating rather than the calories. Like an apple may have 100 calories, but it is better for you and more filling than a 100 calorie pack of cookies for example.
I am committed to doing this again because I know that I eat like crap and I need to change that. If you want to join WW online I will be here to support you! I would love to have a partner!

You guys should at least do the 7 day free trial. If nothing else, it's free and you can see if you like it or not!

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I've signed up online I don't know how many times and I never follow through with it. For me going to the meetings holds me accountable. And somehow the computer just doesn't have that same power.
BUT I am trying to follow the old program on my own without the help of either. I just feel I know it well enough to know what I need to do. I just need to DO IT. I've lost my points calculator though so I'm just guessing on some things. I really wish I could find that puppy.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I can tell you the formula Monica!
Its (calories/50) - (grams of fiber/5) + (grams of fat/12)
My math short cut is this:
Take off 10 calories for every gram of fiber up to 4
Each 50 calories is then 1 pt
Add 0.5 pts for each 6 grams of fat
For example
120 calories
2 g fiber
6 g fat
120-20 calories (for the 2 grams of fiber) = 100 cals
100 cals = 2 pts
plus half a pt for the fat
2.5 pts.
Did I totally confuse you?

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Umm...
I really need to keep looking for that calculator. lol
No, that really does help. I will keep and use that until I find that dang paper one.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
