Shhhhh... I wanted to make her do the math! I'm trying to keep her from going senile. They say puzzles and stuff are good for your brain, and well... I worry about Monica's brain sometimes.

There is also an iphone app (surprise surprise), but I think they might have changed it now.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I had the app when I was a member and it was awesome. That alone is probably worth the membership fees.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
The app for BB is free. Search weight watchers and it should pop up. It's nice to have it on my phone so I can really figure out the points rather than looking at a label and thinking I'm OK only to find out that it took more points than I was willing to use on something!
And the WW mobile is nice too. I can search point values for resturaunts and also calculate points and add them to my tracker when I'm out and about.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
okay so I joined!!!
The new points are a tad confusing! lol Some are the same but it looks like carbs are more points than before. Protein stuff seems to be the same. Like an egg, or chicken breast is exactly the same. But pasta is more. Interesting.

The only thing I see is WW mobile when I search.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I would totally be interested in a WW challenge of sorts. It helps keep me accountable. I am doing good so far. But in a few days, I will start to go back to my old ways. I know myself.

I love going to meetings but not sure I will really go right now so I might try the online. Online is only $18 a month and they are waving registration right now.
I am in!!! This sounds like a great idea because we can all support each other. And it's more about getting healthy than just losing the weight anyways. So the support would be great.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Do I need to join WW to be part of this group? I am doing a diet run by one of our Biggest Loser trainers and it is great. The recipes are yummy and it is really easy to follow. But i would love to join this support group.

I like that they reevaluated the system because they are right your body doesn't process 100 calories of pasta the same way it does 100 calories worth of chicken.
I just joined on line too with some $ i had in my PayPal account!
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program

And Liz, you don't have to join WW to join in on a healthy way of life with us! It's all about finding something that works for you and makes you a healthier person!

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
AGREE... no pressure to do one program over the other.
Let me start a new thread to see what kind of challenge y'all want to do.

No, that really does help. I will keep and use that until I find that dang paper one.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I am doing WW. I had tried just doing the online WW but wasn't successful. I now go to the meetings. I am successful if I go to the meetings. When life gets in the way and I tend to skip is when I don't do so well that week.
The reason they changed the point system was to consider the way your body processes certain nutrients. From the member book:
"Your body works harder to process protein and fiber. The calories spent on processing are used up or burned by your body. Your body doesn't work as hard to process carbs and fat so more of the calories from those foods are stored. "
So the more fiber and protein the better.
With the new points program, you get more daily points but lots of foods are 1-2 pts higher also. Most fruits and veggies are now 0 pts though. I write on boxes in my pantry what the points are.

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
I know I just started WW but Im having a hard time eating all my points. The only day I hit my points value is the day I ate carrot cake.
Hopefully Ill get to some happy medium as it seems silly to force yourself to eat when your this fat. lol

Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
WW is weird that way, but if you don't eat all of your points, you are in danger of NOT losing weight.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
Mara I found that I had that problem before. I learned that I had to start adding in snacks.

Unless you are sick you should eat your points! A lot of people who eat too little points don't lose weight as fast as those that do. You don't want to freak your body out.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
And btw I rarely have problems eating my points!!! I love having enough points to splurge here or there. It makes it so much easier to stick with the program.
Re: Anyone trying the new weight watchers program
oh don't get me wrong I love eating! But Ive been trying to eat better in general so Ive already reduced my calories. I also know that for me personally there is a set calorie limit I can't go over or I just won't lose weight due to my metabolism being so messed up.
Ive had around 8 points left over each day so I need to find something to healthy but pretty substantive to eat.
